Eclipse Announces ‘Great Fixes for Mars’ Contest

The Eclipse Foundation has launched a new contest aimed at finding any remaining bugs in “Mars,” the codename for the 2015 release train for the Eclipse IDE. The “Great Fixes for Mars” competition is offering Android tablets and T-shirts to developers who contribute bug fixes that have “real impact.”

In order to be eligible for the contest, developers must not be Eclipse committers. Bug fixes need to be submitted in advance of one of the three deadlines: March 10, April 1 and May 6. Three to four winners will be selected after each deadline, a total of ten in all. So far, three developers have submitted seventeen bug fixes to the contest.

The Foundation plans to release Mars on June 24.
