Forrester: Enterprise Development Shifting to JavaScript, Node.js

For years, Java and .NET have dominated enterprise application development, but Forrester is predicting that will change as more enterprises adopt JavaScript and Node.js. In fact, it predicts this change will be “the biggest shift in enterprise development in more than a decade.” The analyst firm has released a report titled “The Dawn of Enterprise JavaScrpt,” which says that the language “will change corporate technology just like Java before it.”

The report adds that while Java and .NET aren’t going away, JavaScript and Node.js address some weaknesses in those platforms.
