Hortonworks has announced Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP) 2.1, the latest version of its Hadoop distribution. The update includes a number of noteworthy changes, including a Hive interactive query capability called Stinger Phase 3. In addition, HDP 2.1 incorporates a number of other popular big data tools including Storm, Spark, Knox and Apache Falcon.
Currently, HDP 2.1 is available as a preview. The final code is slated for release April 22.
