The developers behind the open source Jenkins continuous integration tool have released an alpha preview of the 2.0 update of the project. That puts the project on track to release the final code for Jenkins 2.0 this spring.
The update includes several new features, such as Pipeline as Code functionality and a set of recommended plug-ins. Jenkins 2.0 is said to be “totally backwards compatible” with the previous version.
