Atlassian has added a new feature to its JIRA project management service that converts JIRA tickets to freelance job postings on Upworks. The feature will make it easier for startups and enterprises to hiring freelance software developers and other freelance professionals for project work. JIRA will also integrate with Upwork’s messaging service.
“As we have become more mainstream and as managers in big enterprise companies have gotten closer to technology, the enterprise space has woken up to this idea [of hiring freelancers],” said Upwork CEO Stephane Kasriel.
The Upwork features are currently only in the hosted version of JIRA, but they will soon also be added to the self-hosted versions.
