Microsoft Launches Excel API

Microsoft has announced that its Excel API, which was formerly a beta release, is now generally available. The tool allows enterprise application development teams to access data stored in Excel for Office 365 and use it to power their applications and dashboards. Like the rest of Microsoft’s cloud computing service APIs, the tool will be available through Microsoft Graph.

Many enterprises store vast quantities of business data in Excel spreadsheets, so the tool could open up new opportunities for data analysis.

Companies like Zapier and Sage are partnering with Microsoft to integrate their software with the Excel API.
