Microsoft has announced that it will release a developer preview for an update to Windows Phone 8.1 sometime next week. One of the biggest new features in the release is called “Apps Corner.” Businesses can use the Apps Corner to specify which apps can be opened when the phone is sandbox mode.
Other new features include app folders on the Start screen, a live tile for the Windows Phone Store, improved text messaging management, Smart case support, qHD screen resolution (960 X 540), and Voice over LTE (VoLTE).
Mobile development professionals will be able to download the update next week. End users should see the update “in the coming weeks,” Microsoft said.
