In its latest effort to compete with Amazon Web Services and other cloud computing vendors, Microsoft Windows Azure has launched a new set of partnerships that it calls the Cloud OS Network. Microsoft is working with twenty-five different service providers and system integrators to add more functionality to Azure. The current list of partners includes companies like Capgemini, Capita IT Services, CSC, Dimension Data,, Fujitsu Ltd. and Lenovo.
“This network of leading service providers will help our customers create datacenters without boundaries for apps, data and device management,” said Microsoft’s Takeshi Numoto. “That translates into greater diversity of solutions, more flexibility and lower operational costs for customers, allowing them to focus on their core business rather than managing datacenters.”
