Red Hat Launches OpenShift Marketplace

Red Hat has announced that its OpenShift platform as a service now has a Marketplace that will offer additional services from other vendors. Initially, it will include offerings from Blazemeter, ClearDB, Iron.io, MongoLab, New Relic, RedisLabs, SendGrid and Shippable. “Ultimately, what we want to do is to make as frictionless as possible the interaction between application creators and service providers,” explained Ashedh Badani, vice president of Cloud and OpenShift at Red Hat. “If we can do that successfully, then the platform becomes more valuable.”

According to Red Hat, more than 2,000 people a week are signing up for OpenShift cloud computing services.
