Red Hat has released the 2.0 version of Ansible, the Python-based DevOps tool it recently acquired. The biggest changes in the new release are the addition of blocks and strategies. Blocks provide a way to group together tasks or perform error handling within a Playbook. Strategies control how playbooks execute, with the primary options being linear, serial or free.
In addition, Ansible 2.0 features more than 100 new add-on modules. Those modules include tools for working with Amazon EC2, VMware, OpenStack, Docker and Microsoft Windows.
