A TEKSystems survey of IT leaders finds that 48 percent of those surveyed expected an increase in full-time hiring and 36 percent expect increases in temporary hiring. The most difficult positions to fill included security professionals, programmers and developers, software engineers and project managers.
When asked about their most important initiatives, IT leaders ranked security, mobility, cloud computing and business intelligence near the top. In addition, DevOps initiatives are becoming more important, climbing up seven places on the list compared to the last survey.
Fifty percent of those surveyed expected their IT budgets to increase this year, and another 35 percent expect their budgets to stay the same.
