As it continues the preparation for this week’s launch of BlackBerry 10, RIM has announced that it is rolling out lower pricing tiers for apps in the newly renamed BlackBerry World. The company said it is making the changes in order to account for fluctuations in global currency exchange rates and taxes in certain countries. The EU and the U.K. will see the pricing changes first, and then the updates will roll out in other parts of the world.
BlackBerry app developers don’t need to take any action as their app prices will automatically adjust based on their current tier. However, developers will have the ability to select a pricing tier for each country, and they may want to revisit their pricing after the changes take effect.
