Survey: 20% of Enterprises Use Containers in Production

Nginx has released the results of a new survey of CIOs which found that 20 percent of those polled currently have production workloads running in containers. And among those with containers in production, one third of respondents run at least 80 percent of their workloads in containers.

The big advantages of container technology, such as Docker and CoreOS, are that they support cloud computing, are naturally service-oriented and are highly scalable. InfoWorld writes, “Containers are more of an evolution than a revolution. It?s a way to build and move applications to a state where they can be better managed and utilized.”
