Twitter Open Sources Flight JavaScript Framework

Twitter has announced that it has released the code for Flight under an open source license. Flight is a JavaScript framework that the company developed internally. It allows Web developers to create and test decoupled components without having to rely on other components. The Flight site on GitHub describes the technology as “a lightweight, component-based JavaScript framework that maps behavior to DOM nodes.”

Twitter says it began using Flight for its Web applications last year.

The site also includes a demo application and extensive documentation to help developers use the tool.
