Russell Nicolet, an accomplished trial lawyer and founder of Nicolet Law, has dedicated himself to serving clients and the community. His life and work are spent in advocacy for the injured, and he is determined that this daily effort will always make a genuine difference. Nicolet’s journey has driven him toward a commitment to growth and improvement from the moment he decided to become a lawyer to the present day.
Starting a Career in Law
Though he wasn’t sure how it would work out, Nicolet became the first member of his family to enroll in law school. He didn’t know how difficult it would be or whether he would be able to make it through the program, but in the end, Nicolet proved that he had the knowledge and skills necessary to become an excellent lawyer. With this in mind, he made a similar leap of faith in 2007 when he started his own law office.
Nicolet Law’s Humble Beginnings

Upon its founding, Nicolet Law was little more than a one-room office in Hudson, Wisconsin, staffed only by Nicolet himself. Even with this tiny operation, he knew that through continuous effort and improvement, he could succeed in serving clients by solving their problems was and and make a difference in their lives. Though he was a brand-new attorney, he spent hours conducting research in the Washington County Law Library to ensure that he could effectively deal with any case that came his way, remaining dedicated to getting better.
Along the way, Nicolet took the opportunity to learn from several mentors. Through their meetings and lessons, whether they were on his side or the opposition, he gradually shifted from general litigation to a focus on injury law. Eventually, the group he could learn from grew so small that he needed to expand beyond Wisconsin and Minnesota.
Nicolet reveals that he began training and learning under some of the best injury law attorneys. He would travel to other states to train under them, hear what they had to say, and watch how they conducted their work. He recalled that he had traveled across the country so he could learn from the best in the industry.
Continuous Learning Leads to Recognition
Continuous learning is a hallmark of Nicolet’s, something that he is proud to share. The knowledge he has gained, combined with an earnest passion for injury law, has led him to receive numerous awards and recognitions. The National Trial Lawyers Association has acknowledged him among the Top 40 Under 40 Trial Lawyers as well as the Top 100 Trial Lawyers, and SuperLawyers Magazine has recognized him as a SuperLawyer.
Standing Up for Those Who Need It Most
Now, Nicolet Law is serving clients across three states and has dozens of employees. While Nicolet is proud of the growth, he shared that he is proudest of those who work alongside him.
“I am most proud of the excellent folks who work here and come in day after day to fight for the hard-working people and families in the Midwest who need our help,” Nicolet concludes, indicating that the firm will continue to grow while fighting for others.
