Find out Whether a Value Exists in a List of Values

You can use a normal SELECT query joined with a bunch of AND statements to determine if a certain value exists, but this can become cumbersome and tedious. Enter the IN statement. You could use it like this:

SELECT *  FROM    TABLE WHERE STUDENTID  IN(STU123,STU456,STU789,STU1003,STU10)
