Adjusting for Deleted Rows

Adjusting for Deleted Rows

Question:
How do I create a column with a row ID that adjusts if a row is deleted? That is, if I had numbers 1,2,3,4,5,6 and I delete record 3, record 4 shouldbecome number 3, etc.

Answer:
There’s no easy way to create a counter that will adjust every record in the database when a row is deleted. It may seem practical when you’re using a small database, but when you have many thousands of rows, such a process would create tremendous delays in accessing the database.
