Creating Objects

Question:
I am having problems creating one particular ActiveX object using ASP. Previously I used WinCGI, and could create the desired object without any trouble. Trying to create the same object using ASP gives me this error:

Server object error ‘ASP 0177:800a0bd0’ Server.CreateObject Failed

However, if I have been using the WinCGI program since starting the WWW server, then the object is happily created and the application works. All of the references I can find on problems creating objects suggest looking at security permissions, but I am using a FAT drive.

I have no idea where to look next to try and solve the problem.

Answer:
One solution may be to check the instancing setting in the class object that you are creating. According to one report, if it is not set to multiuse, you’ll get an ASP 0177 error. I guess that makes sense in a multi-user environment.
