Migrating to SQL Server and Keeping Novell 4.1

Question:
Our business expects to migrate to a SQL Server base. We have two servers&#151the platform is Windows 95/Novell 4.1. Our manufacturing vendor application is upgrading, and it requires a SQL platform to perform efficiently.

When we bring in the SQL Server, can we continue using Novell 4.1, or do we need to move to NT?

Answer:
SQL Server runs only on a Windows platform. Version 7 will install on either NT, 95, or 98. For robustness, stability, and performance, you should use NT where possible. However, you can continue to use Novell for file sharing.
