How To Share WiFi Password
Sharing your WiFi password with guests, family members, or new devices is easy on iPhone, Android, Mac, and Windows. You don’t always need to remember or type out the password — modern devices offer one-tap sharing. Here’s how to share your WiFi password on every platform.
How To Share WiFi Password From iPhone to iPhone
Apple’s WiFi sharing works seamlessly between iPhones, iPads, and Macs:
Requirements:
- Both devices need WiFi and Bluetooth turned on
- Both devices signed into Apple ID (the person receiving must be in your Contacts)
- Your device must be unlocked and connected to the WiFi network
- Personal Hotspot must be off on both devices
Steps:
- Make sure your iPhone is unlocked and connected to the WiFi network
- Have the other person open Settings → WiFi on their iPhone and tap the network name
- A popup appears on YOUR iPhone: "Share Your WiFi Password with [Name]?"
- Tap "Share Password"
- The other iPhone connects automatically
This also works from iPhone to iPad, iPhone to Mac, iPad to Mac, and any Apple-to-Apple combination.
