A new technology industry lobbying group called fwd.us wants the government to allow more highly skilled workers from foreign countries into the United States. Created by Mark Zuckerburg, Bill Gates, Marissa Mayer, and Reid Hoffman, the group wants increase to the cap on H-1B visas, which allow developers, engineers and other highly skilled technology workers to enter the country. Since 1990, the United States has issued only 65,000 of these visas per year.
“We believe it?s important that the cap should be raised to reflect the needs of today?s economy and market,” said Todd Schulte, president of fwd.us. He added, “We don?t have a visa for entrepreneurs (and) we are trying to fix that right now.”
