A new survey of IT decision makers conducted by Aeris and Vanson Bourne found that 74 percent of those surveyed believed the Internet of Things (IoT) will help their companies achieve key business objectives, and 71 said it would help their companies achieve competitive advantages.
On the other hand, respondents also expressed a lot of concerns about IoT: 72 percent said it is difficult to analyze IoT data and gain useful insights; 73 percent said collecting, managing and storing device sensor data is a major worry; and 78 percent said connectivity, provisioning and device management will be a major challenge.
The survey also found that 65 percent of businesses are developing their IoT applications in-house.
