How can I put an initial value in a TEXTAREA?

Question:
How can I put an initial value in a TEXTAREA? works just fine, but it doesn't seem to work with textareas.

Answer:
You say that you did try using the TEXTAREA tag, yet your example had in INPUT tag. Try using this:

Where NAME is the name of the field, ROWS defines how many rows of the textarea should be visible, COLS defines how many characters wide the field should be.

This should help!
