What is New in Visual Foxpro 6.0

Question:
I have been developing software in Foxpro 2.5 for DOS for many years. I have just bought a licensed VFP 6.0, I want to know what is new in comparison to Foxpro 2.5.

Answer:

This is a short list of some new features:

There is no need to create a foundation read anymore: the READ EVENTS command creates a fantastic event loop.

Object Orientation

Databases with stored procedures

Wizards for everything from application creation to table construction, to HTML output.

The ability to create tools called builders to aid in development

The ability to create ActiveX COM Servers

The ability to use ActiveX controls (TreeView, Animation controls, Crystal Reports, etc.) 32-bit applications

The ability to connect to any ODBC datasource without external libraries
