Cannot connect to Personal Oracle

Question:
I have been trying to connect to Personal Oracle 7 on the Macintosh. I can connect from the DBA applications, but cannot connect from Power Objects. Can you give me any help?

Answer:
There are a few things that might be wrong here. First of all, you should have an appropriate connect string. Using &quotOracle:scott/tiger@local” works fine for me. Secondly, you have to have theORAWINBIN directory in your path. Thirdly, you will have to have the ORACLE71.POD file in the same directory as your application.

Check to be sure that each of these is correct.
