Parameterized Queries in Visual InterDev 6 and Access 97

When creating a query using the Visual InterDev 6 Recordset Design-Time control (DTC) against a Microsoft Access 97 database, you may get an error 80020009. The problem is that the Recordset DTC doesn’t support parameterized SQL queries in Access 97–only in SQL Server. You can choose to abandon the parameterized query approach and script your own SQLText subroutine, or upgrade your database to the more expensive SQL Server.
