Question:
Our company uses NetFolders to share the company calendar, which has extensive listings. We are about to install Exchange 5.5. What’s the best way to move the calendar intact once Exchange is up and running?
Answer:
If you’re using NetFolders, then one user must be the host of the NetFolder and have the calendar in a .PST file.
I would create a public folder on the Exchange server for your company calendar—make sure to give all of the appropriate users the appropriate permissions—then have the host user go to that public folder and do a File | Import and Export | Import a File | .PST file. Walk through the Import & Export wizard and specify the .PST file that contains the calendar.
You might take a step or two out of the process if you were to File | Export that calendar to its own .PST file before you start this process.
