Justin Long, the actor known for his role as the “Mac guy” in Apple’s mid-2000s ads, has switched sides again. This time, he is promoting new Windows laptops powered by Qualcomm. In a video shown during Qualcomm’s Computex event, Long is seen preordering a Windows laptop with a Snapdragon X Elite chip.
the Mac vs. PC war is definitely back on. Apple’s "I’m a Mac" guy just returned to promote Windows on Arm PCs in a commercial where he's bombarded by macOS popups and nag screens 😅 you can watch the 30-second ad here 👇 https://t.co/g4jq0pWl9k

The segment shows Long typing on an Apple MacBook at home, frustrated by many notifications, including warnings about low battery life and limited disk space.
Justin Long endorses Qualcomm laptops.
Long searches for “Where can I find a Snapdragon-powered PC?” and says to the camera, “What? Things change?”
Did you watch @Qualcomm President and CEO @cristianoamon’s keynote at #COMPUTEX2024? What’s one thing he said about #Snapdragon X Elite that really stood out to you?

Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon stressed this message by returning to the stage and saying, “Yes, things change.” It’s not clear if Long will be in more Qualcomm ads, but this is not his first time away from Apple. In 2021, Long was in an Intel ad campaign promoting the company’s Windows PCs, where he jokingly introduced himself as “Justin,” mocking his old “I’m a Mac” tagline. Qualcomm, a new player in the PC chip market, says its Snapdragon X Elite chips aim to outperform products from Intel and Apple.
As these new chips start powering Windows laptops that are set to launch later this month, consumers can expect more marketing from Qualcomm.
