Microsoft Releases Taco Tools for Cross-Platform Mobile Development

Microsoft has released Tools for Apache Cordova CLI 1.0.0, or Taco. It includes a number of command line utilities that make it easier for OS X and Windows users to create cross-platform mobile apps. Taco is based on Apache Cordova and Node.js, and it integrates with Microsoft Visual Studio, although Visual Studio is not required to use it.

In keeping with Microsoft’s new openness, Taco is available through GitHub under an open source license.
