Visual Studio 2010, .NET 4.0, Silverlight to Launch This Week

On Monday, Microsoft announced that upgrades for three of its popular application development tools will become available this week.

Key improvements in Visual Studio 2010 include tools for making cloud, Silverlight, and Windows Phone 7 apps. It also includes new team development, testing, and bug fixing capabilities.

The new version of the .NET framework should be much easier for end users to install, with an 80 percent reduction in runtime. And Silverlight 4 will now offer the ability to run applications outside of a browser.
