Cisco is launching a new app store called AppHQ. This distribution hub for Cius tablet apps will feature tools that make it easier for enterprise IT managers to control which apps workers download for their tablets. Also, while the Cius can also download apps from the Android Market or the Amazon AppStore, Cisco will review and validate all apps listed in AppHQ, providing a greater measure of security.
The company is promoting the app store’s current lack of apps as a benefit for developers, saying, “Your app won’t be struggling to be found amongst thousands of others.”
