Not only did Nokia show off its first Windows Phone 7-based handsets this week, it also announced that it will be giving away 25,000 of those handsets to developers. Starting October 27, Nokia and Microsoft will hand out free Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phones to developers who are committed to writing apps for the Windows Phone platform.
During the coming year, the two companies also plan to host 1,000 mobile development events, including code camps and hackathons. They hope to reach 100,000 mobile developers by June 2012.
