Google developer advocates Mark DeLoura and Michael Mahemoff have given a presentation in Europe in which they revealed that the company is likely to unveil a Web store for the Chrome browser in October. Unlike the traditional 70/30 payment arrangement Google uses for the Android Marketplace, those who develop apps for the Chrome Web store will only have to pay Google a 5 percent “processing fee.”
The store will also offer free trials, subscriptions and other in-app payment platforms, but will only accept US currency at first.
