CD Projekt, the developer of The Witcher series and Cyberpunk 2077, has partnered with mobile game publisher Scopely to create a new game based on one of its existing franchises. The announcement was made during CD Projekt’s latest financial briefing, but no further details were provided about the specific franchise or the game’s release date. Scopely, recently acquired by Saudi Arabia’s Savvy Games in 2023, has succeeded with mobile games like Monopoly Go and expanded its reach by purchasing Niantic’s video game division for $3.5 billion in March 2025.
CD Projekt has some experience in mobile gaming, having released ports of its titles and a Witcher mobile game in July 2021, which was later shut down in 2023. Despite a decline in consolidated net sales and net profit in 2024 compared to the previous year, CD Projekt described it as an “excellent year” due to the continued success of Cyberpunk 2077 and its expansion, Phantom Liberty.

The Witcher 3, released a decade ago, also continues to provide a stable revenue stream for the company. CD Projekt has several major projects in the pipeline, including The Witcher 4, which has entered full production with 411 employees working on the sequel. Project Orion, a Cyberpunk sequel, is being conceptualized by a team of 84 employees, while Project Hadar, a new franchise, remains in the “IP concept phase” with 17 staff members involved.
Additionally, Project Sirius, a multiplayer Witcher spinoff from internal studio The Molasses Flood, is in pre-production with a team of 49 people after being rebooted.
