The report surveyed 750 senior cybersecurity professionals from the U.K., U.S., and Australia across various industries. The survey found that 80% of respondents now consider cybersecurity automation important, up from 68% two years ago.
99% of respondents have increased their budget for automation, with 39% having a dedicated budget, up from 18.5% last year. The top use cases for automation are incident response (32%), phishing analysis (30%), and threat hunting (30%). Challenges include technological issues, budget constraints, and time limitations.
However, trust in automation has increased, with only 20% doubting the processes, down from 31% last year. Employee satisfaction and retention remain key metrics for assessing the ROI of cybersecurity automation, but focus has shifted towards resource management and operational performance metrics.
