D3 Publisher has announced that the otome visual novel “Despera Drops” will be released for PC via Steam on May 27. The game, which originally launched for the Nintendo Switch in Japan in November 2023, will support both English and Japanese language options. Set in various European countries, “Despera Drops” follows the story of Mika Amamine, a Japanese student studying abroad in Bologna, Italy.
During a trip to Rome to celebrate the end of her exams, Mika becomes entangled in a murder case and is arrested as a suspect. The story takes an unexpected turn when the police vehicle transporting Mika overturns in an accident, freeing her and six other criminals. They become fugitives, pursued by both the police and mysterious attackers who are after Mika’s unique power.
Players will make choices throughout the game that affect the “likability” of other characters and the protagonist’s own “criminality,” influencing the story’s progression and ending. The game also features a “Sidecar Part,” where players choose who will drive the motorcycle, allowing them to discover different aspects of their partners and deepen bonds. In addition, “Mission Mode” segments require players to cooperate with allies to complete tasks such as stealing important items or escaping from buildings.
The game boasts a cast of characters, each with their own distinct personalities and backgrounds:
– Ash Meyer (voiced by Ryota Suzuki), a lone wolf who avoids speaking to others.

– Hamiel Luis (voiced by Kazuki Kato), a con man known for his eloquence and manipulation skills.
– Gib Baltzer (voiced by Ryota Takeuchi), a former police officer turned fugitive. – Ramie Carriere (voiced by Yuto Uemura), a self-proclaimed phantom thief targeting the wealthy. – Camu Einhard (voiced by Shinnosuke Tachibana), an environmental revolutionist fascinated with Japanese culture.
– Sally Del Testa (voiced by Kanae Ito), a genius hacker with a liking for Harajuku fashion. The PC version will include seven additional postscript episodes that were previously sold as DLC for the Switch version. Players can switch between Japanese and English text at any time, with audio remaining in Japanese.
The game supports keyboard, mouse, and controller input, with customizable options available. “Despera Drops” promises an immersive experience with its unique blend of romance, mystery, and high-stakes escape gameplay. The game will be available at a 20 percent discount on Steam until June 10.
