Fans of both Mortal Kombat and the Scream franchise can now enjoy a thrilling crossover. The iconic slasher Ghostface has been added as a special announcer in Mortal Kombat 1. Originally, this in-game announcer was an exclusive reward for top performers in the Towers of Time mode.
However, due to popular demand, NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. have made it available for purchase in the game’s premium shop. Players can now buy Ghostface’s announcer voice for 1,000 Dragon Krystals, which is about $10 USD.
This addition lets players hear Ghostface, voiced by Roger L. Jackson, announce the names of all the characters. Jackson, known for his role in the Scream series, brings a classic horror touch to the game.

Mileena is also available as an announcer for the same price. She lends her voice to various menu options and the character select screen.
Twitter user 4thSnake shared a clip showing how Ghostface announces each character’s name in a unique way. According to 4thSnake, Ghostface has two distinct variations for delivering each character’s name, adding an extra layer of horror-themed flair. Mortal Kombat 1 is also progressing through its latest Kombat Pack.
The Khaos Reigns expansion introduced Sektor, Cyrax, and Noob Saibot. Ghostface is the latest addition from the special guest fighters. Terminator 2’s main villain T-1000 and Conan the Barbarian are set to join the roster next.
No additional DLC Kameo Fighters have been announced for this wave so far. Ghostface’s arrival in Mortal Kombat 1 offers an exciting blend of two iconic entertainment worlds for horror and fighting game fans.
