The Nintendo Switch 2 is generating a lot of excitement among gamers. Pre-orders for the console have been selling out quickly at various retailers in the U.S. and the U.K. Despite recent restocks, it remains challenging to secure a pre-order. The console is set to release on June 5.
The standard edition of the Switch 2 is priced at $449 in the U.S. and £395 in the U.K. There is also a Mario Kart bundle available for $499 or £429. Walmart, Target, and GameStop began pre-orders on April 24. Best Buy also started pre-orders on the same day and plans to open stores at midnight on June 5 for pre-order pickups.

Newegg has live pre-order pages but has not disclosed specific restock times. Amazon has yet to launch a product page or confirm pre-order details in the U.S. In the U.K., they used an invitation system for the initial wave of pre-orders. Several accessories are also available for pre-order.
These include the Switch 2 Pro Controller for $69, Joy-Con 2 Controllers for $94 per set, and the Switch 2 Camera for $50. Some highly anticipated games are launching alongside the Switch 2. Mario Kart World will offer up to 24-player races and new power-ups.

Donkey Kong Bananza releases on July 17 with new terrain-smashing mechanics. Keep a close eye on retailer websites to increase your chances of securing a pre-order. Many are restocking sporadically.
Joining waitlists and signing up for alerts can also help. As the June 5 launch date approaches, restocks may become more common.
Patience and persistence are key for those who missed the initial pre-orders. Nintendo has also begun sending out the first batch of pre-order invites. The invite system prioritizes Switch Online members with at least 12 months of subscription, 50 hours of Switch gameplay, and those who have opted into sharing gameplay data.

Each invite allows the purchase of one console and certain accessories. Once users receive an invite, they have a 72-hour window to complete their purchase. The Switch 2 features several upgrades, including a larger 7.9-inch LCD screen with 1080p resolution and a variable refresh rate up to 120Hz.
