Vampire Survivors is set to release its biggest downloadable content (DLC) yet, titled “Ode to Castlevania,” on October 31. This exciting collaboration with Konami’s iconic Castlevania series will introduce over 20 new characters, 40 new weapons, and more than 30 music tracks. Players can expect to see familiar faces from the Castlevania franchise, such as the Belmont family, including Simon, Richter, Trevor, and Sonia.

The Belnades clan of witches, featuring Sypha, Yoko, Charlotte Aulin, and Maria Renard, will also join the fray. Other heroes like Jonathan and John Morris, Shanoa, and Eric Lecarde will be available as playable characters. The DLC will feature a massive new stage filled with mysteries, dangers, and challenging bosses.

Each character will have access to a “Weapon Selector,” allowing players to choose specific starting weapons and enhance their gaming experience with each playthrough. In addition to the new characters and weapons, the DLC will include over 30 new music tracks. These will feature remixes of classic Castlevania themes by composers Daniele Zandara and Filippo Vicarelli, along with contributions from fan-favorites Evelyn Lark and Keygen Church.

Castlevania collaboration unveils new content

Vampire Survivors has been highly praised since its release two years ago, receiving a 9/10 rating last year. Developer Poncle has continuously expanded the game with both free and paid updates, including original content and crossovers with other popular franchises like Among Us.

The “Ode to Castlevania” DLC is set to elevate the game even further, offering a gaming experience nearly 70-80% the size of the original Vampire Survivors game. This extensive content is reflected in its slightly higher price point of $3.99 / €3.99 / £2.99. Fans are eagerly anticipating the release of this DLC, which promises to provide even more excitement and “just one more run” moments for players.

The announcement has sparked conversations among the gaming community about the influence of Castlevania on Vampire Survivors’ enemy designs and gameplay mechanics. The Castlevania franchise has been highly active recently, with the launch of the “Castlevania Dominus Collection” in August and crossover events with games like Dead by Daylight and V Rising. However, fans are still awaiting the announcement of a new mainline Castlevania game.

For now, the collaboration with Vampire Survivors offers a thrilling addition to the franchise’s lengthy history. Players can look forward to delving into “Ode to Castlevania” and experiencing a unique blend of gothic horror and roguelite action when the DLC releases on October 31.
