Protesters gathered at Tesla showrooms across the United States and parts of Europe on Saturday.
Based on the videos I’ve seen so far, the worst fear of the paid Tesla “protestors” appears to be having to get a real job

They were demonstrating against Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s alleged political actions and influence over the U.S. government under former President Donald Trump’s administration. The protests took place in major cities like San Francisco, Seattle, and Santa Monica.
Demonstrators hoped to impact the fortune of the world’s richest man by targeting his electric vehicle company.

“We are here to show our opposition to the undue influence of money and power on our government,” said one protester in San Francisco. Rep.
Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., spoke to a crowd outside a Tesla showroom in Seattle. She highlighted the concerns many Americans have about Musk’s involvement in politics. “This is not just about one company or one person; it’s about holding those in power accountable,” she said.
I got to meet so many awesome people at the @ChatCharge event this weekend with 19 @Tesla Owners Groups who came in from all over the er the country! What a fantastic way to show support for Tesla and all that the company does to bring us all together and have such fun!… pic.twitter.com/9bSzVQ9dEG

The rallies were also organized internationally under the name “Tesla Takedown Global Day of Action.” Protesters assembled outside Tesla dealerships in London, Berlin, and Vancouver. They waved signs and chanted slogans against Musk’s political connections.
Anti-Musk protests hit Tesla showrooms
The global demonstrations suggest a widespread concern about the intersection of corporate power and political influence. Despite mixed reactions, the protests were mostly peaceful. They aimed to make a strong statement against what protesters see as the problematic mix of business and politics.
As the demonstrations happened, several protesters said they were determined to continue their efforts. “We will keep showing up until our voices are heard and meaningful changes occur,” said one protester in Seattle. Musk’s fortune has dropped more than $100 billion as Tesla’s stock has fallen by nearly half since its peak value in December 2024.
Musk’s political ventures are forcing many Tesla owners to either support or oppose the company. Bumper stickers reading “I bought this before Elon went crazy” have become common. They signal a rebuke against Musk’s recent political actions.
Many people want their car to simply be a car, not a political statement. For now, the widespread social backlash is making a dent in Tesla’s finances. However, it remains to be seen what the company’s ultimate fate will be.
