Samsung has released new watch faces from Wear OS 5 to its Galaxy Watch 4, 5, and 6 models. The update gives users a taste of the software features available on the latest Galaxy Watch 7, although the full Wear OS 5 update has not yet been released for these older models. The Galaxy Watch 7 launched with One UI 6 Watch in July, but this software version has not been extended to other watches in the series.

Samsung plans to release One UI Watch 6 to the Galaxy Watch 4, 5, and 6 models by October or November. For now, users of these older models can enjoy new watch faces as part of a minor update. The update, delivered through the Galaxy Wearable companion app, includes new “Featured watch faces” such as Spatial Number, Simple Digital, and Ultra Info Board.

These new faces are designed to refresh the look and functionality of the devices. While the new watch faces provide a welcomed enhancement, they may not fully satisfy users eagerly awaiting the comprehensive features of One UI Watch 6. Samsung continues to work on developing and deploying the latest Android iterations across its range of mobile phones and smartwatches.

New watch faces enhance Galaxy experience

This incremental update shows Samsung’s ongoing commitment to bringing fresh elements to its wearables, even as larger updates are still in development. Users of compatible Galaxy Watches will receive three new watch faces:

1.

Spatial Number: This watch face displays the current hour as a large, geometric number in the background, with analog hands showing the minutes. It supports two complications. 2.

Simple Digital: A minimalist digital watch face where the progression of seconds is displayed by a ring on the outer edge of the screen. 3. Ultra Info Board: This watch face supports seven complications, making it ideal for users who want to continuously monitor various health and fitness parameters.

The One UI 6 Watch update is set to introduce numerous improvements, such as personalized workouts, new and improved tiles, and more accurate sleep tracking thanks to AI analysis of collected data. The entire list of new features and improvements can be found in the update documentation provided by Samsung.
