Burns’ journey in venture capitalism started at just 26 years old when she joined GV and became its youngest and first Black female partner. Prior to this achievement, she was an associate product manager at Twitter, a Kauffman Fellow at NYU, and, as of 2021, the youngest member of NYU’s board of trustees.

She has supported at least 11 companies, Clubhouse included and continues to seek promising businesses in which to invest.
