Travis Kelce recently expressed his excitement about the Tesla Cybertruck on his podcast, “New Heights,” which he co-hosts with his brother Jason Kelce. Jason, who owns a Cybertruck, joined the conversation, sharing both admiration and some concerns about the electric pickup truck. “Those things are sweet,” Travis said, referring to the Cybertruck.
He also showed interest in purchasing Tesla’s all-terrain vehicle, the Cyberquad, which was announced alongside the Cybertruck in 2019 but has yet to be released. “I want the little four-wheeler. That thing looks sweet,” he added.
Jason, who already owns a Cybertruck, shared a minor setback he experienced with the vehicle. “I got a little nervous when I took the vehicle to the carwash,” he explained. “The Cybertruck short circuits going through car washes.
I think it’s just like they didn’t seal something properly. It even rained once, and the car door kept opening when I parked it until it dried, then it would close again.”
Tesla first announced the Cybertruck in November 2019, with plans to start shipping in 2021.
Kelce’s thoughts on Tesla Cybertruck
However, the release has faced several delays and design changes. Jason mentioned that Tesla rushed to get the vehicles out. “They had to rush them out,” Jason said.
“It took them like three extra summers to figure it out,” Travis added, chuckling. Despite these issues, including a recall affecting nearly 4,000 Cybertrucks due to a pedal jam and another recall impacting over 11,000 units, the Kelce brothers seem to remain fans of the vehicle. Interestingly, Travis’s admiration for Tesla comes amid tense interactions between Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk and pop star Taylor Swift, who recently endorsed Kamala Harris for the presidency.
This endorsement prompted a response from Musk, who took a jab at Swift. Despite this, Travis appears to separate his opinion about Musk from his interest in Tesla’s innovations. The discussion on the “New Heights” podcast highlights the appeal and challenges of Tesla’s much-anticipated Cybertruck.
While issues remain, the enthusiasm from high-profile fans like Travis and Jason Kelce keeps the buzz around Tesla’s electric pickup truck alive. Representatives for Travis Kelce and Tesla didn’t immediately respond to requests for comments.
