Actor Vikrant Massey recently caused a stir when he announced on social media that he would be taking a temporary break from acting. Many fans and colleagues misinterpreted his post, believing he was retiring from the film industry altogether. In response to the speculation, Massey issued a clarification.

“Acting is all I can do. And it has given me everything I have,” he said. “My physical and mental health has taken a hit.

I just want to take some time off, want to better my craft. I feel a sense of monotony at the moment.”

Massey emphasized that his initial post had been misunderstood. “My post has been misinterpreted.

That I am quitting or retiring from acting. I want to take some time off to focus on my family and health. I will be back when the time feels right,” he explained.

In his original announcement, Massey had expressed gratitude for his career and the support he has received. “The last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. I thank each and every one of you for your indelible support.

But as I move forward, I realise it’s time to recalibrate and go back home. As a husband, father & a son.

And also as an actor,” he wrote. He added, “So, coming 2025, we would meet each other for one last time. Until time deems right.

Last 2 movies and many a years of memories. Thank you again. For everything and everything in between.

Forever indebted.”

The post drew reactions from fans and fellow actors. Actress Dia Mirza showed her support, commenting, “Breaks are best; you’ll be even more amazing on the other side.” However, some, like actor Harshvardhan Rane, questioned whether the announcement might be a publicity stunt. Rane, who co-starred with Massey in the film “Haseen Dillruba,” told Bollywood Bubble, “He is a man with clear and centered thought process.

I respect his work ethic and look up to his acting process on Haseen Dillruba’s shoot. I’m praying this is just some PR activity forced on him by some filmmaker.”

Massey, who began his career in television, has starred in several acclaimed films over the years. His notable works include “A Death in the Gunj,” “Chhapaak,” “Haseen Dillruba,” and most recently, “The Sabarmati Report.” He is currently working on two upcoming projects, “Yaar Jigri” and “Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan,” before his planned hiatus.

As fans and the industry await further updates, Massey’s decision to prioritize his well-being and family has sparked discussions about the pressures and demands faced by actors in the film industry.
