IT Workers to Receive Slight Pay Increases in 2010

According to the 2010 salary report from Computer Economics, the median IT salary will rise just 1.8 percent this year, well below the 2.7 percent rate of inflation. That’s the lowest rate of growth in five years.

However, for developers the news looks slightly brighter. The researchers predict that developers (including application programmers, data analysts, database administrators, business analysts, architects and others) will see the highest rate of salary growth–2.1 percent.

Separate figures from Dice.com show that application developers and SOA specialists currently receive the highest pay among IT workers.
