What are the right skills? White says employers are looking for programmers who know PHP, ActionScript 3, and J2EE, but you have to be up-to-date on the latest versions.
Which companies are hiring? White says that social networking and gaming are adding a lot of personnel, as are clean technology and medical software companies. On the other hand, semiconductor companies and business-to-business software companies, don’t seem to be hiring as many new workers.
