Think a tweet is only 140 characters long? Not if you’re a twitter developer. Raffi Krikorian, a developer on Twitter’s API/Platform team, has put together a detailed image explaining the wealth of data that is sent along with Twitter postings.
However, the image is about to become outdated. Next quarter, Twitter will roll out “annotations” which will allow third-party application developers to add any data they like to tweets—perhaps media files, tags, or more details about links.
