Ranked as high as number three on the list of best-selling iPad apps, Weather HD has sold as many as 3500 downloads a day at $0.99 each. Based on the company’s own sales figures, they’ve developed a chart showing the average number of downloads for the top 100 iPad apps.
The company further estimates that the top 1,000 iPad apps bring in a total of about $372,000 per day, or $136 million per year. However, that only includes U.S. sales. Once the iPad launches internationally, Weather HD conservatively estimates the app market could be worth $272 million this year, and as much as $1 billion within two years.
