New SAP Co-CEO Jim Hagemann Snabe says the company is committed to agile development. “We see that the traditional waterfall model is not agile enough, not fast enough to capture the real requirements,” he said. “In fact, in the time it takes from the moment you define your requirements until you have them implemented, the requirements already changed.”
The company is using agile in combination with “lean” processes, which adapt agile methodologies for larger, dispersed groups.
Snabe says the processes have worked well so far. “I promise you we’ll write a book about how to do it,” he added.
