Earlier this week, someone leaked a Microsoft partner slide show detailing the plan for the next iteration of the company’s operating system — Windows 8. From an application development perspective, one of the most important revelations is Redmond’s plan to create a “Windows Store” to house third-party apps.
The Windows Store would make it easy for users to find third-party applications from within Windows or on the Web. Like Apple’s App Store, it would include only apps that pass a review process.
